What could possibly be better than super easy tiramisu cupcakes? And they're vegan! You'll be the hit of the party. Click here or on the giant yummy picture above to learn how to make these. If you do make them let me know in the comments on either the recipe page or this post on how you like them.
Very Vanilla Frosting is finally here! I've actually had this recipe for a while but it hasn't been published because I haven't had any pictures. These pictures aren't the best because it's been stormy and gray for the past few weeks. Let me know what you think of the frosting.
Chocoholic in the house!!! I'll admit, though I love chocolate, you may have noticed I don't make very many chocolate cupcakes. I don't have a huge love for chocolate cake, brownies however, are the exception. A well made, gooey, chocolate filled brownie is my friend. I love brownies! And if you do to here's a really quick, simple brownie recipe you should definitely try. Click here to get it!
I'm currently working with new lens filters and learning Photoshop so bear with me on some of these photos. Happy Turtle Day everyone! In celebration of the day I made a turtle made out of cupcakes! I used the Classic Vanilla Cupcake recipe and Very Vanilla frosting with food color in it. I hope to later come up with natural dyes instead of artificial ones since they really aren't great for you. Though I try to avoid most dyes if I have to I will eat ones that are not animal derived. Under no circumstances will I eat Red 40. Keep checking back as I have plans this summer to do some dye testing! Anyway, I also used the Dark Chocolate Delight frosting.
This design is fairly simple to do. After baking the 12 large cupcakes I arranged them on a foam poster board. I broke toothpicks in half and stuck them through the bottom of the board and the bottom of the cupcakes to keep them from moving. After they were all in place I piped blobs of chocolate frosting on the shell cupcakes and then smoothed it out. To get a smooth, uniform look, dip the spatula in water. Make sure to wipe it off before dipping it again. After the shell was done I smoothed on the green frosting and then piped the design on the shell. If you want to make the "water" around the turtle with mini cupcakes like I did go ahead and make another batch of cupcakes, but only if you want about 50 small cupcakes! My vanilla cupcake recipe makes quite a bit and depending on how full you fill the cupcake liners you can get quite a few cupcakes. If you just want a few blue ones and a turtle just make a regular batch of cupcakes. You will have enough left over for at least 10 blue cupcakes. New cupcakes have been added! This time we have more of a fall cupcake, but it tastes good any season. Check out the Maple Pecan Cupcakes and the yummy Straight from the Tree Maple Creme Frosting.
